About Us

The staff at Discover are dedicated to providing quality early childhood education and regularly attend early childhood conferences, classes and workshops, constantly updating the curriculum with fresh, innovative ideas.

Mrs. Julie Drake has been the owner and director of Discover Preschool for 11 years. She teaches the Parent-Tot Class and the classes for 3- and 4-year-olds. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Michigan and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakland University.

Julie's past teaching experience includes nine years teaching elementary Special Education classes and three years teaching first grade in Howell Public Schools. She has enjoyed teaching preschool children for the past 21 years.

Julie lives in Milford with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, outdoor activities and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Jackie Ross teaches with Mrs. Drake in the classes for 3- and 4-year-olds. She has worked with preschool children for the past 20 years, and her organization and compassion for children and their families is unmatched. The children love her! Jackie and her husband live in Highland.  They have two children. Jackie enjoys traveling, gardening, and most of all being actively involved with her family.
